Call for Book Submissions

Notes from editor and publisher Chelsea Hodson:

Book submissions will be accepted for the first time ever beginning on November 1, 2026 and ending on December 1, 2026.

Both agented and unagented submissions are welcome.


I am reading all genres and there is no fee to submit.

Manuscripts do not have to be complete.

Currently, I’m most interested in:

  • Novels

  • Book-length essays

  • Books by first-time authors who have spent their lives devoted to other mediums

  • Books that, for legal reasons, cannot be published under the author’s real name


I’m less interested in (but not entirely opposed to):

  • Books over 120k words

  • Essay collections

  • Poetry collections

Please feel free to submit your work, regardless of where you fit or don’t fit into these lists. If I love something, I’ll know it when I see it.

Before submitting your work, please be aware that:

  • I have rejected 99% of the submissions I’ve ever received.

  • I make editorial and acquisition decisions based on intuition and instinct, not logical projections, sales potential, or experience level.

  • I won’t be offering personal editorial feedback on rejections.

  • I will be responding to all submissions by March 1, 2027.
